Warm, hot days recently in Chicago.
It has been many weeks since I last posted a blog. I realized today, one of my few days off, that I missed writing down my thoughts and that without this sort of medium they've been buzzing around in my head begging to be let out into the world.
I've read all of the other blogs on here and am in awe of what my fellow Shimerians have done with their summers. They are making their marks on the world in wonderful ways. My summer has been much less impressive, although similarly busy. I am now the Assistant Manager of a well-known video game retailer that is quite close (a two-minute walk) to my home.
I am living with fellow Shimer students (at one point four of them, then three, then two, now only one, and soon, three again, until one of them leaves for Oxford) and am extremely anxious for school to start. Things will be significantly different for me this year at Shimer, although I'll get into the specifics on that in another post.
I am having family come up to visit me next week and cannot wait, although the days get closer and closer and I've yet to clean my room.
I am still enjoying the Chicago atmosphere and what it means to be a Shimer student, constant dialogue. Look forward to posting tomorrow to tell my BIG NEWS.
